1. Buckwheat has been grown for 4000 years.
It was brought to Poland during the Tatar invasion and their settlement on the Eastern outskirts of Poland. Therefore, buckwheat is also known as tatare ('tatarka').
2. The blooming buckwheat is a perfect nutrient for bees. Buckwheat honey improves vascular permeability and makes the veins less brittle. It nourishes the cardiac muscle and strengthens the whole organism. Buckwheat honey is used to produce mead.
3. The roasted buckwheat husk is perfect for filling mattresses and pillows.
